Private Charles Ambrose was born in 1891 and enlisted into the 1st Battalion on the 7th June 1912 at Chesterfield, Derbyshire. He served with “B” Coy and was hospitalised on the 1st September 1915.  

He later transferred to the Machine Gun Corps with the new number 19643 and attained rank Corporal. He was discharged on the 11st July 1918.
