Private Frederick Beech enlisted into the 95th Derbyshire Regiment of Foot in 1873. He served during the Crimean War of 1854-56 and the Indian Rebellion of 1857-58. 

On the 2nd December 1873, he was awarded the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal.
