Sadly, little is known about Sergeant Alfred Brown apart from that he served with the 95th Derbyshire Regiment of Foot. He served with the 95th during the Crimean War of 1854-65 and the Indian Rebellion of 1857-58. 

He was awarded the Crimean Medal with clasps Sebastopol, the Turkish Crimea Medal, and the Indian Mutiny Medal with clasp Central India.
