Captain Graham Callow was born on the 13th March 1894 and served as Trooper with The Derbyshire Yeomanry. He saw service with The Mediterranean Expeditionary Force in Egypt. 

He later transferred into the Sherwood Foresters and served with the  5th Battalion and commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant on the 25th October 1916. He was promoted to Lieutenant of the 15th Battalion on the 25th October 1916, Acting Captain in 1917, Acting Adjutant in August 1917, and Captain and Adjutant on the 5th January 1918. 

In the Great War of 1914-19, Graham was wounded three times, mentioned in Dispatches three times and awarded the DSO and MC. Whilst serving as Temporary Captain and attached to the 15th Battalion, Graham received the Distinguished Service Order. During operations East of Terhand on the 14th October 1918. During this time, he showed great courage and initiative when the Battalion was held up by a Battery of enemy guns in action about 500 yards away. He organised two parties and led them forward against the guns, putting the guns out of action and shooting down several teams of horses. Pushing forward, he cleared several enemy machine-gun posts and shot down another team of horses retiring with a gun. He did splendid work.  

 He later served with 2nd Battalion in Egypt in 1919 and seconded to 1st Nigeria Regiment. He the 29th December 1920, he served with the West African Frontier Force. On the 1st November 1922, he was placed on half pay and later transferred to the Police Force in West Africa as Commissioner. He was Called to the Bar and became Crown Law Officer Sierra Leone. He was Raised to the Bench and served and Judge in Nigeria and in Malaya.

In 1947, he retired as Supreme Court Judge and died at home in Wiltshire in 1960.
