Sadly, little is known about Private James Fitzgerald apart from that he served with the 95th Derbyshire Regiment of Foot during the Crimean War of 1854-65.  

He was awarded the Crimean Medal with clasps Sebastopol, Alma, Inkerman, which is held in the Regimental Museum Collection
