Private William Higgs served with the 95th Derbyshire Regiment of Foot during the Crimean War of 1854-65 and the Indian Rebellion 1857-58. He is shown on the pay roll between the 1st July 1849 to the 31st March 1850 and was the Brigade Major's Orderly. William was discharged in 1867.
