95th (Derbyshire) Regiment of Foot
Private George Homey was born in approximately 1832 in Shelton, Stickley. He served with the 95th Derbyshire Regiment of Foot during the Crimean War of 1854-65 and the Indian Rebellion of 1857-58. He was transferred to 2nd Class Army Reserve and was discharged in 1863. He began receiving his Chelsea pension on the 2nd June 1885 and in 1909, he was listed as a surviving pensioner.
