Corporal John Hulland was promoted to Corporal on the 25th March 1805. He served with the 45th Derbyshire Regiment of Foot during the Peninsula War of 1808-1809 whilst attached to from the 2nd Battalion. On the 24th November 1809, he transferred back to the 2nd Battalion and was discharged shortly afterwards.
