Private Harry Hunt was born in Orsall, East Retford, Nottinghamshire and was the son of James and Priscilla Hunt. He lived and enlisted in Retford on 2nd April 1914 and served in the C Company.  Harry landed in France on 24th April 1914 and was wounded in the trenches near Maison Rouge, France on 2nd August 1914. He sadly died of his wounds the next day aged 26 years
