1st Battalion The Sherwood Foresters(Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire) Regiment
Private Robinson is shown in I’m 95 (magazine), in March 1891 as being present at HQ at the presentation of the new colours on the 5th of February 1891 and being with “F” Company. Also reported in I’m 95, is his good conduct pay in June 1892.
Private Robinson served in the Boer War of 1899-1902 with the 1st Battalion and was posted to “E” Company in the reorganisation of the Battalion on the formation of the 2nd Mounted Infantry Company on the 1st of March 1900. On the 19th of May 1900 he was awarded 168 hours imprisonment for quitting camp without permission.
He is recorded as having returned to duty on the 24th of July 1901, from attachment. He was transferred to the Base Company on the 1st of March 1902. He was discharged after 13 years of service.
