Private Vickers was born in Worksop, Nottinghamshire in October 1894. He enlisted into the Sherwood Foresters and landed in France in March 1915, serving with D Company. Thomas was unfortunately wounded shortly after landing, having been injured in the trenches around Kemmel in April 1915.

Thomas died at his home on the 10th November 1918.
