Private Ernest Webster lived in Chilwell, Nottingham and enlisted on the 18th of May 1914 with the 7th Battalion (Robin Hoods).  He served with number 15 Section, 4 Platoon “A“ Company, of the Battalion, in February 1915.  

He was discharged due to sickness on the 1st of September 1916 and was given a Silver War Badge. A Silver War Badge was awarded when a soldier was honorably discharged and no longer fit for service.
